I have a 1966 190 with a 2800 non turbo engine that has had a recent rebuild. I also have a 1965 190 with a tired 2900 turbo engine. I would like to put the turbo and oil cooler from the 2900 engine onto the good 2800 engine. It appears that i have all the parts that I will need including the air cleaner. Will I also need to swap the pump and injectors and what other problems should I expect?

There's something about a slug in an oil passage on the 2800 engine that has to be removed,,,,

Compression more than likely will be different, but I don't have the numbers in front of me.

The slug is in the 2900 to make oil go around to oil cooler on right side. MACK

the tips are a tad larger in the xt, the pump is set to put out more. The water pump is located higher on the xt due to volute. Put the back galley plug in to make the cooler work.

Could you explain "put the back galley plug in" a little better?

There is a plug on left rear corner of block on 2800 block elbow on 2900. Remove elbow on 2900, there will be a long spring, then a plug. Remove and install in 2800 block along with elbow, line, and ect. MACK

When you remove the big oil line elbow at the left rear corner of the block, you'll see a long spring and deep down inside will be a blocking slug. Transfer those parts from one block to the other.

Thanks guys. It's always easier to get some advise before you do something for the first time.
