My WD45 is surging. I rebuilt the carburetor and it starts easier and idles better, but it surges at full throttle and I have to pull the choke out to keep it running. Carburetor, ignition, or governor? It was doing this before the carburetor rebuild as well.

My G used to surge. A 2nd governor spring fixed it. It's not a big spring, a small one about as big around as a pencil, and a couple inches long. It doesn't take much tension to pull it, but it worked!

Do you have generous flow out of the bottom of the carb if you pull the plug. On my WD I had restriction in fuel shut off above the glass cup. Once all cleaned...back to full power.

If you have to pull the choke out to keep it running good, you are starving for fuel. Need to check fuel flow to and through the carb. Remove the plug or the main needle valve from the bottom of the carb and check fuel flow there. Let the fuel run for several minutes and see if it maintains a constant flow. Bob
