Steve's second map shows my trivia question of earlier, the 80 degrees West longitude runs roughly from Miami, near Charlotte, and near Pittsburgh. A line due North from the FL Panhandle looks to me like it would pass through Lake Michigan, not the Detroit area. Looking at it that way, there would be 6 time zones in the Continental US. Do we want that?
Want some fun, look out in the North Atlantic, in the Newfoundland Labrador area, there's a 1/2 hour time zone!!! ![]() |
