Just bought a fiat allis 11b. After it is running, it will leak oil around the starter where it mounts to the flywheel housing. My thought is the Venturi pump is plugged but it’s not. Hoses are all clear as well, any ideas where to look next?

Transmission pressure regulator is suspect.
What is the history, and plans for use of the tractor?

Would the regulator be set too high or too low? We bought the machine without a lot of history. Previous owner bought it non running, rebuilt the motor and everything. Said last year it started the leak and he didn’t have enough use for it to justify working on it. Plans for the tractor is to use it to push dirt.

Not a resale item then meaning purchased cheap to repair and resell? Sorry to be harsh sounding but been down that road with others.

We bought it from a farmer, to use on our farm for odd jobs. Bought at a good price, yes but I wouldn’t say cheap. It’s not often something comes available that’s affordable but also close enough we can have it moved without much hassle.

You need FA FL 10 - FL 10B loader and 10 - 10B dozer Service Manual Print No 604.06.077
The converter is scavanged by a pump which sucks through a gauze strainer in the plumbing back from the converter.

Ian;
His tractor is like mine and only Fiat in the lettering. Underneath that lettering is 100% Allis-Chalmers engineering. The 11B, 16B, and 21B series were carryovers from the Allis-Chalmers partnership and were eventually replaced with Fiat designed units. ![]() |

Codger
Thanks for the correction - this has been worse than "one of those days"! The service manual recommendation is good for one of those though

Hey no worries at all!! Happy to see some other participation to help the gent out.
Hopefully he can get this problem sorted and will stick around to let us know how the machine performs in their operation. So many only come around when they have problems and you never see them otherwise.

Thank you all. We are going to start by checking the gpm at each check point and go from there. The fluid is building up in the flywheel housing. We checked the drain line T under the torque converter, and both sides pass fluid, so I went to the line that connect to the Venturi pump, it too passes oil.

Does the flywheel housing have a breather? I can’t find one, and I’m wondering how the suction for the Venturi would work without it.
