Tonight. Going to sleep Inside the Trailer aside the shop. Still access to full lavatory in that building as need be but she feels a necessity to tey it out and see what shakes out overnight.

Trial runs sounds better than assuming good to go. Put to the test. There will be enough surprises when thinking all is well.

We do that every spring to give the RV a shakedown.  Water, elec, generator, batteries, chasis eng, etc.  Finding a problem on the road only intensifies it with no tools to repair.  Spring/ice-out close to home also gives us a chance to shake it out and test out the fishin equipment.

Found a First Hmm moment today.  Drained Pink A-Fr from water system and tanks, kept seeing dead flies and gnats in Front Fresh Tank drain water(Kitchenette Sink), stopped as it got empty and pulled it, lo and behold Vent Line WIDE OPEN 3/8 tube, several dead flies still in line.  Used a piece of Scotch Brite pad and a piece of Aluminum Wire to secure it in the entry point for both tanks.  Supposed to have a metal either brass or aluminum screen in that vent opening, this will have to do.  Did pull both then Bleach shake and wash followed with rinse them out, reinstalled.

Before Ask or Note, SCH!TTERS FULL, Rinse flowed all the plumbing, Drained ALL the Catch tanks into buckets(Down the Shop Toilet) and all ready for the weekend at Shut Ins.

SCH!TTERS full... LOL, hope it has not been sitting a long time that way.  It can get VERY rank!  One trick I learned long ago, drain fully when close to full, then fill atleast 1/4 full of plain water.  Then throw in a 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup, depending on how big tank is, of Dawn and 1/4 cup of Calgon.  Empty at next destination then put another 1/4 tank of water in black tank.  The only time to let sit empty is winter/below freezing, period, or it takes for-ever to get that horrid smell calmed down.  Don't fall for the hype some stinky stuff must stay in tank for it to work... RV black tanks ARE NOT septic systems.  Another thing, don't leave black tank, ie ter, dump valve open when connected in a camp ground.  That will lead to other problems with your system.

Do you think the flies drowned in the water or did the antifreeze kill them? asking for a friend Wink

Perhaps a Little of Both!!  Big smile

Anywho, all that is fixed.  Uneventful more or less night, Quiet, Cool Inside as had not started Furnace, 57 nearly all night outside, SWMBO had window ajar for a Light Breeze to keep her cooled off below Lava Heat.  A FEW Hormone issues as an Older Gal.
Generally sleep on a Sleep Number Air support mattress, her side near to 80, my own at 55, memory foam was OK, not what I would consider as a Permanent mattress but fine here, as well I Had Sheet AND a Blanket over me.  That is until 11:40 as was awakened as blanket got tugged to herself.
Slight Off Angle to RV, she kept rolling to center of Mattress, would wake up as elbowed me inadvertently moving about and going back to her side.

Decided to go to Lesterville after ate breakfast and scope out the Park grounds at the Shut ins for our soon to commence two day camp out.  2.5 hours down, easy to find, roads in campers area near to Perfect as just completed in 2009 to replace the old blown out camper area to the south of hwy72 that the Taum Sauk incident took completely out.  Should be a good initiating trip.

Dave... every time you said "SHUT INS" i though "gee... i know that name, but why"... your last post filled in my blank spot.... That has been a few years back!

----------
In December 2005, the Ameren Reservoir, setting on the Peak of Proffit Mountain, breached. The 1.3 million gallons of water being held back by the reservoir's wall was unleased down the side of Proffit Mountain and into the valley of Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

That would be it.

The old park RV campgrounds was obliterated and is now called the Debris or Boulder Field, getting down to the actual Shut Ins area is a jaunt but worth the few minutes to run around inside the park.
Ameren footed the bill to construct the new RV Grounds and a number of hiking trails, the visitor center tells of the debacle of the reservoir failure. Opened eyes and management minds as to actually fixing not patching the mechanisms that earn their livings.
