My son-in-law called me tonight and said he bought a HD4 with a bucket on it ..
Runs great and loader moves up and down fine .. He said the tranny slips bad ..will move
forward and back , if only full speed .. He thinks it will load on the trailer by itself ,,but neads work .. Any Idea how big a job to fix ? ..What do you think is wrong ?

Worn clutch packs or low hyd pressure, worst case is if torque converter is bad but would bet on clutch pack.
 Also be sure it is in 1st gear as 3rd needs almost full power to move machine.

mine does that when tranny fluid gets low,make sure the engines running when u check it

Type A trany fluid in that section, dip stick on rt side under floor plate.
Least IF my memory is right, heck to get old .. seems some things slip mind.
