I do not have all the information yet but figured I would throw this question out to give me a direction to start in. A guy I know with a 190xt (early model) has an issue with the rear differential sizing up. I'm yet to see the tractor as we still have over 3' of snow. What would be your first idea of what's going on? Just trying to get an idea of where to start. He does have another complete parts tractor.

The rear end seizing up?? locking up ? With little more than that to go on, I'd say the transmission/differential oil is extremely low, possibly due to a leaking PTO shaft seal and no one checking the oil. If the transmission/diff oil level is fine, then I'd guess a brake locking up, but that would make one wheel slide or pull the tractor one way.

I was thinking brake pedals may be locked together and a brake locked up. I was just told that he was going to have it brought to the nephews garage as soon as he can get back to his deer camp and get it out. I'll have to get some answers from him about what all happened when it locked up. I appreciate the response. You guided me through replacing all the gears in my 190 a rear ago. She's still running good since the repair. He just uses the tractor for food plots around his camp so he couldn't have been working hard when it happened. Thanks again.
