I have a 1976 7060 red belly. The tractor has always started great and runs great as well, until recently. If it sits a few days you have to "re-prime" the fuel system. I rebuilt the primer pump as well as putting all new O-rings in all the fuel lines. If I pump the primer twice it fires right up on the first rotation. Any ideas?

Does sound like air getting into the IP while sitting, have you checked the crankcase oil, for signs of fuel? Also it is very common for air to get in through a leak, but that hole is so small tha fuel doesn't come back out. May have a check valve leaking by, how many hours on the pump.

OB, The tractor does not "make oil" or burn it. I have has SOS done on it and they come back fine. As far as I know the pump only has about 1200hrs on it (I bought it in 04 with 800 on a complete rebuild and had tags on the pump). I do know about sucking air without leaking fuel, I have a 7040 that kinda did the same thing. It would start if you were "priming it" and would run above idle just fine without leaking fuel, but would not idle (still not leaking fuel). I did replace the fuel lines and fixed the problem, because they were rubbing, but not through. My 7060 will idle and run great once its running. MACK I went completely through the primer pump and cleaned and replaced all O-rings. The tractor has set for a few months at a time in the last few years, thats why I started with the "easy" fixes. I appreciate the help sofar, Thanks guys.

what about the fuel line sleeves on all inlet AND return? drain back issues can be tough to track down. I have new primer assemblies also, as well as the plunger. You did replace the plunger in the primer right? Good luck, Ed.

Check all the rubber seals on the fuel lines ; my 200 done this once and it was the rubber seal on the steel line behind the flare at the fuel filter ; as for the primer pump ; throw it away ; I use an electric pump to prime the system if it wont gravity feed

I had this happen on my 7080 and it was the o rings on the back of one of the square fuel filters.

My agco dealer told me the plunger kit might not fix mine if the check valves behind it werent working right. He said that it might be siphoning fuel back though from the pump. My 7050 kept leaking down and then all of a sudden quit.
