    Posted: 22 May 2011 at 8:00pm
Any advice on pulling cam out of wd45?  Ive got the timeing cover off, valve cover and rocker assembly out, oil pan and pump off and cam gear.  Three bolts held the cam gear to a round metal disc that appears to be pressed on to the cam.  Do I pull this off or does it come out with the cam. What do I do with the valves when the cam lobes hang up.   Any tips are very much appreciated this is the deepest I've been into an engine other than a lawn mower.    Thanks Hardscrable

Leave the pushrods in the lifters and with a stiff rubber band at the top of each pair of pushrods, pinch the pushrods together tightly. Then from underneath push the lifters up in pairs as far as they will go and the pushrods being pinched will hold the lifters all the way up. Pry the camshaft forward (the disc is the camshaft) and it will come out. You'll have to remove a couple of bolts on top of the NF steering cover, but it will come out.
