My tack and hour meter is not working.  Thought the sending unit was bad so ordered a new one and installed, no luck.  Does it matter what wire gets connected to which wire on the harness?  There are two wires that appear to be the same color.  Is there a way to test the sending unit?  Also where do I go from here as far as testing?  Seems funny that the hour and tach both quit working is why I figured it was the sending unit.

thanks

I have 8030 too. Tach works, hour meter dosn't. Is there anything to try to get it to work. Repair manual said something about check the ground. Would the tach and hour meter have a different ground? I noticed some wires grounded on the steering column, but they came up from bottom of tractor, not down from the tach hour meter. Bill

remember that just because the sensor is new doesnt mean that its a good one! we had 4 gm blower motor resistors in a row that were bad at the garage the 5th one was good ,took a while for the parts guy to believe it, there is many times this happens with new parts. check the wires from the sensor to the tach for continuity to make sure you dont have a broken wire, then if they are good its probably the tach- JMO-...Jb
