Now I just have to collect everything I have laying around all you guys places here in the East....

Thank you to Bill Pickard, Dale Schafer, Phil Emery, Wil Manweiler, Gary Arneson, Bob Dalrymple, Richard Aiken, and Bill Poor for either transporting or holding on to all the pieces and parts that I had bought over the last couple years. I bet you are glad to see the stuff go!

The swap meet at Le Sueur was an experience that everybody ought to have at least once in their life. Deb sent me on this trip as a 50th birthday present, so I have to thank her as well. I do not think I could find any finer woman for me. I once heard somebody at Hutch say "Life is just not fair...", and I can attest to that, I don't know how she puts up with me!

I'm glad to have good friends that I could help out by hauling items for them, they certainly helped make the trip less daunting. It was good to see old friends that you don't get to see all that often, and it was good to make some new friends.

If anyone is ever thinking of going to the Swap Meet from the East, here are a few tidbits of info I gleaned from my receipts:

My route:
PA -> OH -> MI -> IN -> IL -> WI -> MN -> WI -> MN -> IA -> IL -> IN -> OH -> PA

approx 58 hrs of drive time
2995 miles
209 gallons of fuel
$815 total cost

Average cost per gallon $3.899  cheapest: IA $3.759  Most expensive:  nw IL $4.159

I'd do it again, but it is sure tough on the wallet. I spent less on treasure at Le Sueur than I did on fuel for the trip !!!

However, I found a Snap Coupler drawbar for a B, a steel wheel extension rim for a B, a steel wheel 1 bottom plow, about 12 winged gas/radiator caps, 60 cultivator parts, B PTO delete plate, original early B gas tank strap bolts, a B gas tank and a whole bunch of other neat stuff I had always thought I could use.

Now I just have to get everything put away until I am ready to use it.......

If you sell one of your other treasures you got a few years ago, you'd pay your fuel bill....

glen, Glad to run into you again. It was a short visit but you still had lots of miles to cover and another few stops to make on your way back home.We'll have some time for visiting and talking orange at Hutch, that is if we can float a loan to pay for the gas.LOLMaybe we can even find a way to make amends with Fred for the "lawn sweeper episode. (Do they sell hot dogs in Hutch?) Glad you had a safe trip and only one really bad experience on the trip. God Bless.

Good to hear you made it back home safe and sound. I was wondering if you made it home yesterday.  Was good to visit with you and meet Chris.  You are always welcome here.  Hopefully we can get togther up at Hutch.

I still think that lawn sweep would have worked good around here picking up limbs and leaves.....
