I will be planting some open pollinated corn, with medium and large flats mixed together.  Can I do it with the AC or Deutz air planter, or do I have to go to a JD finger planter, or IH cyclo??  Thanks for the input.

I have a White 6100 air planter, My uncle has a Kinze finger pickup (same as John Deere). One year the seed was badly missized, with the White there was no effect on population or seed spacing, He had all kinds of trouble with the finger pickup. Im not real fimiliar with the IH or DA air planters, but I would think the air would be a better choice.

The Deutz should work fine.  I used to change the seed disks for the recommended seed size all the time, several varieties at home and custom work for neighbors.  I finally figured out the medium corn disk will plant 95% of all seed sizes just as accurately as only using medium round seed.  Biggest problem may be doubles with small flats.
The innovators offer what others will imitate.
