Found the reason why the temperature gauge seemed 'lazy'... thermostat was stuck open.

Broke off all three 1/4-20 bolts gettin' it apart, but no big deal.  Talked to AC Bill about this... Steiner carries the T-stat for WC/WD/WF, but nothing else.  Bill suggested NAPA.  This thing has a fairly large 'skirt' on it... nothing like I've seen before, so guess I'll stop by NAPA and see.  Anyone dealt with this before?

Replaced mine earlier this year. NAPA had one. Skirt, stat, rubber seal. I don't remember if they had a gasket or if I had to make one.

Guy  says G226 thermostat is NAPA part number 155 - it's a 180F... says it has 'suggested gasket material'... so I'm on my way to get one!  Might as well get some oil filters while I'm at it, eh?
