A-C model # 7 trail mower

I have one,just check out the bearings on the connecting rods for the sickle bar. And I also had to replace the bearing at the large pully. If everything is tight they are a very quiet machine. There sales pitch was that it's so quiet you can hear the grass fall.

We used one of the No. 7 mowers for several years in the 70's, until the twin disc shafts snapped off by the flywheels. As I remember we had problems with the gear box leaking fluid. I know dad had replaced the seals at least once, but everything might have been worn too badly before we got it. I picked up another one about 5 years ago but haven't used it yet. Around the same time I picked up a newer model with large tires and have used that one quite a few times and it does a good job. You have to do some daily maint with these. Check the fluid level in the gear box regularly and make sure nothing is run loose very long or it'll shake itself apart.
