I just started chopping brush with our flail chopper on our recently purchased AC 7600 and the PTO keeps shutting off.  Sometimes it comes back on by itself and sometimes it takes awhile.  Any ideas what could be causing this problem?  PTO clutch needs to be adjusted?  Any help is appreciated!  I've got to get the brush in our orchard chopped, so we can get through with the orchard sprayer when spraying season begins & I'm already behind schedule.  Mitch & Barb in West Michigan

Do you mean 7060? If so I think it would be similar to an 8050 I used to have that had kind of the same symptoms. I took the PTO control valve off, took it apart and cleaned everything up with brake cleaner, put it back together and reinstalled it, and it would work for about a month. Then the same thing over again. Put a different control valve on after about the 4th time, and never had a nother problem with it. Darrel

It's an Agco 7600 - about a 90 hp tractor.  I fixed the problem.  The PTO quit when I went uphill, so I began to wonder if the hydraulic fluid was low.  I had to go to town and get a 22mm allen wrench so that I could check the hydraulic level.  The dealer delivered the tractor 8 gallons low on hydraulic fluid! It's got a remote coupler that I'll have to replace because it seems to have a slow leak.  Couldn't have leaked 8 gallons since it was delivered though!  Thanks for your reply.  Mitch & Barb in West Michigan

I guess times are tough when a dealer delivers a tractor minus 8 gallons of hydraulic fluid.

That's at least $150 of hydraulic fluid!  Probably more with the price of oil going up all the time.  Mitch & Barb in West MI
