so this is an allis branded welder that came home with me a while ago.  i know that its a century welder, and dated 1982.  so i've got some of the usual questions....is it 'rare'?
is it any good? should i keep it for light jobs, put it away on a high shelf, or sell it??

Pretty run of the mill welder, can't imagine why you would want that, might as well just send it to me. Actually that looks a lot like a craftsman welder I've got.

From a welding perspective, it's a pooch, and it was 'badge engineered', not actually made BY Allis.  I'm sure there's some real ALLIS-made welders out there, this ain't one of 'em.

That being said, it DOES have the AC logo on it, so someone collecting that just HAS to have everything ever given an AC badge would obviously need to have it in their collection...

I would think it is quite rare. I have never seen one. I have seen Century built battery chargers, my father has one with the AC logo, but I didn't know anything about welders. Good find!
If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!

If it says Allis Chalmers on it, my motto is "keep it!" Darrel
