Here are a couple of pictures I took yesterday of my new toy. I hooked at a #4 Allis subsoiler to it and broke up some hard pan; not really, I was just cutting some channels to drain so water in the low places along the road and in between two barns.

Mike, yes it is but I did not bother to put it on. I will in the future and it will be interesting to see how much more pull it gives. When I was pulling across some parts of the road, the TB kicked in and it worked it pretty good.

Michael, Does that 45D have a metal sentiment bowl on it?? I just learned from Marvin that the "optional" metal bowl was mandatory on tractor's equipted with corn pickers[?], that answers my question of glass vs metal on those machines.

Neat old diesel. The subsoiler looks pretty handy but you should give that tractor some real work and come over to break up the hard pan under our clay!

Chris, both my diesels have the metal fuel bowl, and I don't think I have ever seen a diesel without a metal bowl. I will have to check the parts book. I don't know why a metal bowl would have been considered more protective than a glass one when picking corn. With the side shields, and the primary filter, the sediment bowl is as about as obscure as it can be tucked neatly out of the way of any corn stalks. I plan to take the screen off, but it is in excellent shape. It might finds its way to Hutchinson in the swap meet area along with a bunch of other AC goodies I plan to take. Thanks for the comments.

Yes, Parts books shows both Glass and Metal, everyone thinks I'm nuts when I tell em that's what I have here. On a WC with a picker it had a metal bowl, just for that reason, but the bowl was more open to being hit, that's all we can figure.

Hope this works. First is D17 S IV with new bumper installed. Rest are my fleet of tractors with loads of rust,(err, Patina) 
The bumper on the 17 was manfactured by our own Tracy Martin. It fit like a glove. No problem at all to install. Thanks Tracy.
