When to look at a Kinze 2000 4 row corn planter is up for auction tomorrow, look to be in fair to good shape. looks like it sat outside for a couple years as chains are quite rusty and has green mold on tires. Set for 36-38" row but I think I can move thing in to get 30" rows.
? is it a finger pickup uint (looks like it is)
Has any one change one to 30"
what would a ballpark value be.
What are the good and bad things about the Kinze Planter
THANKS David

Is it a 3pt. or pull type? We bought a 3pt. 4 row kinze to replant drowned out spots. It was set on 38" rows and we moved it to 30". It wasnt too hard, just loosen the U-bolts and slide the row. I think we gave $4000 for ours, and Kinze makes the best planters I think. So good John Deere copyed them.

Not to start an argument, but I think Kinze was using JD row units on their planters in the beginning. If I remember correctly there was a Law Suit over this years back.
