Hopefully before too long will be putting a head back on my D-17 gas.

I was wondering what foot pounds would be for the head bolts.  Also the gap for intake and exhaust valves.  The head is plained.  Block looks good.  Do I need temp paint.  I don't really think I need it, just thought Id ask.

Thanks

Don't have the manual in front of me don't want to guess on the torque.  When I painted my WD45, I used the PPG all the way around, and it is still on the engine, it doesn't get much more than auger or drag work, so she never get even warm really, the manifold of course burned off, but it depends on what you plan to do.  Just light work, shoot it, if you plan on heavy plowing, tillage, you may want to consider high temp engine paint.
