What is good year around engine oil for a 6060 diesel tractor? I've been running SAE 30 like the owners manual says but there is probably more modern formulations out there now, advice?

I like to use a 5w30 in smaller diesel engines. It helps them crank and start alot easier, especialy in winter. Being from minnesota, and not the southern part of the country, you'd be fine to run it year round.

There is a 10w-30 diesel rated oil that the new Ford built Powerstrokes use.

The Rotella oil is a good choice and, if you don't want to change oil very often, the Mobil 1 turbo diesel 5w-40 oil is another good choice------especially if you start in cold weather.
