 I have a bad leak on my 7050's injector pump. Its on the back side closest to the block. Its a Roosa Master model number 2284398. Where would this leak be coming from? Its not a drip but a steady run, and I think its whats causing it to loose prime as well. If I take the pump off is it something I can fix myself or would I have to take it somewhere? Also I needed to know what screw turns the fuel up, and is there a way to tell how far it is turned up. thanks

sounds like a pump shop issue. as for as turning the pump up it would really need to be put on a pump stand to get the correct calibration of fuel to the injectors

Take it to a qualified shop. From my experience someone who asks such a question shouldn't be messing around inside an injection pump.

Might just as well pull the pump off and take it to a good pump shop. They can run a flow meter and determine how much the flow rate is.  You didn't mention hours on pump, but unless it has only been a short time since a rebuild, I would strongly recommend "having it completely gone over".   Cost me $550 to have my 7060 pump "run" this past July.

Well I bought this tractor last summer at a sale and the hour meter doesnt work since the tach doesnt.  I wanted it to be somewhere around 20% turned up. I am qualified if I just had the parts, I just didnt know if it was an o-ring or something.  I just needed to look at it to see which screw is the fuel which I now found. I guess ill see what it looks like when I get it off. thanks

Probably the inside advance piston plug has loosened and blown the O-ring. Have to remove the pump to replace the O-ring after removal of the advance pin from the bottom.

Hey Dr. Allis while your online and we talking about injector pumps; our 175 has a steady drip of fuel coming from the top of its pump rather its running or not, any suggestions.

7060 don't mean to post on your topic like this but it won't let post my own topic right now.

Correction..7060 advance plug can be removed without removing advance pin....two O-rings on the advance plug.  175?? I'd guess the throttle shaft seal....I don't work on "CAV" brand pumps.

both sound like throttle shaft leaks to me, and I do work on CAV's. We've seen alot of orings shrinking up and springing leaks. Ed.

Is the throttle shaft seal something that can be fixed easily or dose it need to go to someone that knows something about pumps.

Could be the inner throttle shaft oring or (and Ive had it happen) the inner plug for the auto advance can come loose and drip.   you cannt get the inner throttle shaft out far enough to remove it without rotating the pump and then its not easy, I made a special wrench to tighten the inner auto advance plug.  Either way if you want if fixed permanetly You need to take the pump off and take it to a pump repair shop.

I got the pump off and it appears to be the throttle shaft seal. After I took the top off I tryed to get the shaft out. I was needing to know what holds the throttle and fuel shut off shafts in. I figured I better stop and ask. Where would I get the orings for it once I got it apart? thanks

1851882 M1 GASKET AND 70926356 - ONE GETS THE #'S from a 160 AC parts book.
remove the top two stud nuts, remover cover, unhook spring , remove the two top nuts holding the levers for shut off and throttle - remember which is which - and pull the shafts out the bottom. R&R the two oring s per shaft and reinstall remembering where to hook the spring.  Always use new gasket and no silicone. We do a dozen or so a year.  No need to remove pump.  Ac 160's 170,175 and most all old MF's , a few deeres and other use the CAV - Simms whatever pump. All have these go bad.

After looking at it some more I found that there are retainer clips on it, and the orings were dried out. I put new o-rings on it and put it back together. Seems as though its fixed, no leaks. thanks
