 Topic: OT Keifer Built Trailers?

Has anyone on this site had any experience with Keifer Built flatbed trailers for hauling farm equipment? Are they good trailers? There is a 32' with 2 10K dexter torque suspension axles that a guy has for sale locally. I have not had any experience with the non-spring torque suspension axles. Today, I briefly inspected the trailer. The axles are independent of each other and mounted directly to the frame. They have some kind of an ossilating joint (rubber?) at each end of the axle that allows the wheel hub to flex up & down. How do these hold up over time as compared to spring suspensions?

I was looking at building a trailer a while ago and asked a trailer dealer which he preferred.
He said the spring style last longer but the torque tube type ride better.

No problems with torsion axles. They are alot quiter going down the road empty.

My last Travle trailer an my cargo trailer had dexter torqueflex axles. They pull much smoother than a spring axle trailer. As long as you pull the trailer fairly level you won't have a problem. I whish my new trailer had them. going back to a spring trailer was a big step backwards.

I have them on my Gooseneck trailer, they are OK, My next trailer I will be going back to the spring type suspension. I have had these torflex axles on a camper and now my gooseneck and I do not like them, you really have to keep the trailer level for them to work properly, if not perfectly level they sure do rock back and forth when loaded. However I do believe they are an excellant axle on a single axle trailer. If you only have 1 truck and 1 trailer, and spend the time leveling the hitch to start out with then it might work out ok, But I pull my gooseneck with 3 different trucks and they are 2-6" different in height.
