I need to make a belt pulley shifter lever for my Bother Todd's Continetal UC and was wondering if someone can get me some measurements. I need the OD of the coupler. The length of the coupler. The height of the lever to the bend, and the length of the lever after the bend. Also need to know what angle, or degree the bend is. A picture would also help me out, one in the disengaged position, and one in the engaged. Thanks in advance for any help.

The lever I have is a 5/8" rod that is a total of 21 1/2" long. The coupler is 2 3/4" long and the rod goes in only 1 1/4" so the belt pulley rod can go in 1 1/2". The cross hole in the coupler is drilled and then the coupler is slotted so the lever can be lifted off.
The inside of the bend has the same curve as the cardboard spool inside a roll of black electrical tape, about 1 1/2" dia. I put the end of the tape at the end of the handle and it is 5 1/2" on the outside of the bend. 5 1/2" is in the middle of the bend. If you lay the rod on bench with the handle pointing up, the cross hole in the coupler is up and down as well. I will add that I have seen other handles a lot longer then 5 1/2". One I saw, you could reach it from the seat. Hope this helps.

FYI the gear shift T handle in the 7000's and 7580 and 8550 are also on a 5/8" rod. I have 2 for mine. One for the PTO and the other for the belt pulley.

Thanks Unit3, but can you tell me if the top part of the handle is 90 degrees to the rest, and can you tell me what the diameter of the coupler is? I also need to know what position the handle is in when it's in the engaged position, I'm guessing that when engaged it's pointed straight towards the back of the tractor, but would like to knoe for sure.

The top of the lever is bent 90 degrees and the crosshole in the coupler points in the same direction. If the levers handle points North, the couplers crosshole runs North and South. As for the diameter of the coupler, mine is 7/8"OD. Lay the lever on the bench with the handle pointing up, from the benchtop to the handles end is 5 5/8". The handle could point either front or rear depending as to how you have it sitting, because the crosshole goes clear through. Mine points to 7 oclock engaged and 5 oclock disengaged. It would be a tight fit if it pointed ahead to clear the rear fuel tank stand. Good luck.
