I have had these for some time and have always wonderd about the history behind them and how old they are, thanks for any help.

The hard hat would be 1950's era to early 1960's,
by looking at the logo on it. The "straw hat" would be from the 1940's era. I can remember seeing Allis-Chalmers people wearing the straw hat in the '40's. Keep an eye on both of them, they are getting pretty scarce. |

I dont know if they stamped the dates on the hard hats back then. But the hard hats now have dates on the bill of the hat to tell how old it is for safety reasons. The hard hats now are only made to last for no more then five years. I found that out at a chain saw safety class two weeks ago. So what I am trying to say is look on the under side of the bill for sh%ts. Eric

As Dean said, the hard hat is after 1949 and the straw hat is prior to 1949 by the logo. My Dad had a straw hat in the mid 50's but it wore out many years ago. I have a 50's to early 60's white straw hat that is a cowboy hat style.
