Was there some kind of snap ring to hold the rock shaft arms in place on the D-17? A tractor I purchased a year ago had them turned down one notch and it wouldn't lift the implement but about 2 inches off the ground. Got them back up today to where they are supposed to be but there wasn't anything to hold them in. Should there be? Also does anyone know what is the best Autolite plug for the long reach heads on D-17's? I have it written down somewhere but cant find it.
Thanks

Autolite 295s are the plug you want, and yes a snap ring is used to hold the lift arm in place.

There should be a snap ring on both sides of each lift arm; total of four.

check ebay. Sometimes you can find some new old stock AC 45XL spark plugs.

I like the autolite 303 plugs, they last forever, not sure on the reach on them.

I get cornfused - when did the D17 switch from short to the long plugs or was it vice versa. Everytime I try to finger out which one I have I get a headache.........I have a '58 or '59 series I, so I think it should have the short plugs, right?
cheers,
Creek

Never mind my last post I just thought of what he was talking about. Just the arms themself. I was thinking of the shaft that the arm slids on to. Eric
