OK y'all on a 190XT III......what's an approximate cost for a rebuilt/new/used fuel pump, and while we're at it what's a brake rebuild and clutch job estimate? I am going to look at one soon that's been sitting for 10 years and some mechanic say's he thinks the pumps not working. Oh, also battery replacement cost? I am guessing 2 batteries? What would y'all think a fair price for a beast that needs this attention would be? I will have more info soon. I don't know about third gear, clutch or brakes at this point. I just know the mech jumped it and it wouldn't fire. Thank you all. Dana

Does it need an injector pump or a fuel pump? I don't remember if it has a separate fuel pump. You are looking at $200 or more for batteries. Depending on the amount of knowledge of the mechanic, could it just be a plugged filter or something else simple and only in need of cleaning? In non running condition, I'm thinking in the $2,000 to $3,000 range, but I don't know how they sell in your part of the country. P.S. Good to see your post.

saw an ad for a non-running 190XT, (dunno what year) the pics showed the hood off, and some parts laying around and on it. they wanted $2500.00 for it! the tires looked good tho! it wasn't a real bad looking tractor, appeared it has been inside or maybe was repainted at some earlier date.

Just because it doesn't start off of a set of jumper cables doesnt mean you need a injection pump overhaul. There is a lot of other issues i would look at first. Fuel in tank, fuel getting to injection pump, filter not plugged, etc. Also bad batteries cause slow cranking speed, which means low compression, which means no start very easily. Battieries and injection pump are the cheap part of this whole idea anyway, clutch and transmittion are a lot bigger deals to worry about. Good luck with your purchase!!!!!!

My guess is if its been sitting for several years, the pump and injectors are gummed up with old diesel, thus not delivering fuel. DB pumps run around $500 at our shop, but I prefer to rebuild yours rather than exchange. I would dis-assemble pump and injectors, clean things up, and re-assemble, making needed adjustments and put clean fuel in it and see if it will fire up. There is a good chance the tractor was parked years ago due to the flex ring in the pump breaking down and plugging the return causing the engine to die repeatedly. They just didn't want to fix it at the time is my guess. Good luck, and keep us posted. PM me if I can help. Ed.

one thing of concern for me would be water in the exhaust. The turbo and elbow are probably rusted away to nothing, but if your lucky thats as far as it went, but it likely went down into some cylinders. It does crank over though, so that is a good sign.

Yeah we've had 60 mph winds the past 2 days and the snow filtered into the shed through 2 busted overhead door panels. The stack was cut off below the hood to fit thru the doorway. I looked her over pretty good and the manifold looks great as well as all around the turbine. It's a gamble for sure; I made him an offer so we shall see because some other guy already spoke for it BUT didnt back it up with any cash to hold it with.
