Seeing Adam's post about how his field ready A2 ended up being scrapped, I have to ask what can a guy expect to pay to haul a combine? By the mile I'm guessing? There was a nice looking E Gleaner for sale a while back, but it was way too far to drive it home for me. A bigger truck and trailer are not in the cards any time soon for me. Any suggestions?

3/4 ton pickup with a 4 tire gooseneck will haul a E Gleaner. Local guy that hauls machinery gets $5 loaded mile. If you got a bigger job he will negotiate a little.

I bought a 1975 John Deere 4400 last summer. The dealer hired out oversize work since they don't have the permits. It was shipped 170km ( about 100 miles) on a double drop with the machine in the middle and a header on each end. I was told by the driver it was about a $500 CDN job. Lucky for me they agreed to ship it to me for free BEFORE they asked where I was from.
Sorry for the confusing Canadian figures, hope its some help. |

The E I saw a while back was about 400 miles away, so that can't be too far off that $5 a mile. 18' car hauler huh? Might be able to do that.
