Okay, with advice received out here I decided to buy new bushings for the connecting rods nfrom Agco. The originals are bronze apperance and are continuos. The new ones are grey colored and are split.
My problem is that I was testing the new ones on the new piston pins and in order for the pin to slip into the bore of the bushing, it opens up the split by 1-2 mm. This doesn't seem right. I question then if this bushing will fit in the rod if the piston pin is in. To note, the part number on the bushings is correct to the Agco parts book.
Has anyone else ran into this issue?
Separately, please check the classifieds...I am looking for some rockers and pushrods.

All I know for sure is when rods were re bushed in my 220&8070 they had to be honed to fit the pins.You need an experienced person to do this,not a beginner.

Steve is correct. You must have the old pressed out and the new pressed in. Once they are pressed in, they must be at least honed to fit. The best way is to have the bushings bored so the wrist pin is correctly located. Honing will work fine, just isn't as accurate.

Looks to me as if you have the incorrect part with the correct P/N on it. Does the bushing press into the conn rod end?? if it does, then maybe it is correct and needs serious machining to get the pins to slip into it. Also, where is the oiling hole??

I agree. I don't think those are the right bushings. And they do need to be honed in for correct clearance when done.

Those are correct. They look just like mine and have an oil hole. I got mine from Sandy Lake.
