What size are the eccentric pins on the wheel spinouts? Is it just dirt, paint, rust, etc. that is on mine so that I can't get a 3/4" socket on them? I haven't really tried to clean them off yet. 13/16 is too big. I am using 12 point sockets. I am going to try 6 point, but I need to know what is the CORRECT size. I am wondering if it is 23/32 or is 47/64 a nice snug fit? Or, is it indeed a 3/4". Thanks, Ted

An Allis engineer from that era would not have ever considered a fastener that was 23/32 or is 47/64.
Get the dealer parts book for your tractor, the hardware will be called out in the back.

they are tapered and a 3/4 will just fit over the end. I have a 25/32 that works good but is just a chrome socket so I am afraid of using it on any that are real siezed up. |

What Denis says is correct. They are tapered. I guess that is why AC supplied a wrench for them.

Broke a few sockets until Dad went and bought a Snap-On deep well 3/4" impact socket. That has always worked.

Ditto to what Lonn stated. Use a good 3/4" 6 pt deep impact socket. You might want to get a wire wheel and give them a good cleaning first. |
