I own a WD-45 and I have all kinds of opinions. I could tell you my political opinions, opinions on trucks, but I suppose you want to know about the tractor. Sorry, had to be a smart @ss. I like her real well. Drives well and great power. Is one heck of a machine with the hand clutch, and Im a big fan of snap coupler equipment. I use my for plow days, for pulling wagons, and for picking up bales. I like it real well.

Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

I have 2 of them One with a loader. some times I wish it had power steering . and the other currently with a Snow blower. Thier a good tractor for the time that they were made. a lot of power in a fairly small package. The seating access could be better. once I'm on it I like to stay on till I'm done.

Take one to a plow day with a set of mounted 2-14's and you will see why we all like them !!

I agree with Dakota Dave about the seating. I love mine. A WD45 is what I learned on so they will always be my favorite.

You might want to get the hinge that lets you flip the seat to the right when getting on.

I take my 45 to plow days with 4-14's behind it. Always does real fine, no problem keeping up with 720 deeres pulling the same plow, and they are rated for 5-14's according to their owners manual.

You definitely can not beat the bark for the buck running a WD45. Seems to have all the power you need all day long and the ONLY thing a WD45 shys away from is the fuel pump.

Lots of power for the size and weight. The front end stays on the ground too. Hard to get on off. I often wonder about a sideways tip, could I bail or not. Everything else is awesome, love hand clutch, starts easy, runs cool, it loves to snort.

When it came out, according to old mechanics I've talked to and of course my uncles, it took the competition by storm. Many stories of plowing demos and running silo blowers and such. It's a classic. Don't think about it. Just buy it and enjoy a real piece of America.

Yep, 45's are pretty handy tractor, specialy if you get ahold of some snap couple equipment. I'm almost old and half crippled up and still get on and of the 45 just fine. My B is the one that makes it hard getting on and off.

The deal is, the WD 45 came from the factory with about 38 hp at the drawbar. 60 some years later, some got a lot more horsepower and some got a lot less. Some have traction boosts that work and some don't. Also you got to figure that there are lots of different kinds of dirt. So, some will pull 4 16" plows and some won't hardly move 2 14" plows. If they aren't worn out, or even if they are an you fix them up, they are pretty handy old tractors. You can get more money tied up in one than you can ever hope to recover, but that is the case with most anything, and doesn't always mean you shouldn't do it. As with everything in life there are trade offs.

My Dad used to say dollar for dollar and pound for pound you can't buy a better tractor than a WD45.

My Dad has always called them a bucking bronco. He always claims because stopping a 45 was like trying to stop a bucking bronco. I think another reason would be cause the thing would literally try and throw ya off. He always said it was a fun tractor to drive and it was his main horse for several years of full time farming.
