I have the final apart on the old WC and it has a serious large gasket. When I look at the auto stores the gasket material sheets are way too small to make one.
I wonder if anyone has found a good source for large sheets. Also what is the best material, the old ones look like cork or cork/ rubber. Are other fiber materials a better way to go? I hate to goop it up with silicon sealer but if that is what works, OK. I just wanted to fix the drips as well as possible. |

I have used dogfood sacks, plus shellac, or dealer of your choice. It is kinda of a water proof material

Last summer I bought from my AGCO dealer 2 rear final pan gaskets for the WD45 and they were $14.00 ea. I said the same thing about gasket material costs. I would still get a price on them from AGCO for your tractor.

I made gaskets for the final drive pans on my D-17 last summer.
I had some gasket material laying around that came in a roll but I can't remember
where I got it from.
It would seem that NAPA should have it?

I checked with NAPA on line and they handle all kinds of gasket material.
eg: 1/32" 18" X 36" sells for $8.29.

I got all of the final drive gaskets and seals from Brenda at Sandy Lake Imp.
She had me go to a dealer in Wis for the differential gasket as she didn't have it.

I needed a pan gasket for the engine on my B and the final drive gaskets. I couldn't see spending the $14.00 shipping for the pan gasket alone so went to Napa got a roll of gasket material for around $8.00. I took an old final drive pan, drilled out the spot welds and removed the steel reinforcement part. It makes an excellent template. That roll made the pan gasket, one final drive gasket complete and I was able to pieced together the second final drive gasket. All for less money than what they wanted for the pan gasket along.
