The D-21 is the best looking farm tractor. ever. period.
But for practicality, I'd go with an updated WD-45 size mehself. 8 speed tranny and live hydraulics. |

I would like to vote for a tractor that looks like a B, but is diesel. They would have to replicate the look of the front of a B especially. I would like Hydrostatic drive with a Pedal plus a gear box to select from three ranges. Of course I would want all the modern standard options in term of attachments and hydraulic outlets. I would not want any ergonamic updates though because that would ruin the look. And I would want the ROPS to be easily removable.

You all know how much I love the B. That said however, I do not think the B would fit into taday's market. Just too simple without good hyds, or good easy hook up implements and not a lot of power. But, I would still like to see an updated one along the lines of teh 8n above. I would really travel to see that.
Oh well,just dreamin!
One can at my age.
Good Luck!

Last year I was at the Quad Cities Farm Show in Moline IL, and the 8n "Boomer" was there on display, it was all decked out with special factory options for dressing it up a bit. The rep from CNH said that it was their best year for sales (last year speaking), for the Boomer and that they were just getting by with production, by the number of orders. They obviously couldn't have done this with any other model, they picked the right one to "retro" in my opinion. I think a WD45 styled tractor, with equipped with todays technology would do better than a D series. Most people who are not that familiar with AC and the whole lines of tractors they produced can always seem to remember the WDs and WD45's over other models, from what I have seen and heard talking with people. A retro WD45 would go over great, but try getting that through the thick skull of the dictator!!
