Will the injector pump off a red belly 7060 be the same as black belly 7040?

they never made a black belly 7040 so someone has painted it, the pump will work ,the settings are different, but not anything that will cause a big issue

It will bolt right up.  It will probably put out more fuel than what your 7040 is used to, so you will probably get a HP boost, but you will probably burn more diesel also.  Good luck!

My book says the timing is different so I didn't know if it would be the same pump.

It is the same pump, but I would take it in and have it calibrated for the 7040. As far as the timing, that is done when the injection pump is installed.
