How do I know if I have a WC pedistal? It has a square plate on top. It is threaded on the bottom with a washer with a pin that sticks up in a hole. It has a keyway in the front side of the shaft. The spindel block was a welded up piece of junk and I'm not sure the correct one. It had a u-bolt that wraped around the front with the nuts on the rear. It had no set screw but the front side was welded up and had bolts and such used as filler. The hubs ride in a cup with a seal on the outside of the hub. The cups have ears that stick out the back and ride over a square piece so they don't spin. The spindels were welded on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a '38 unstyled with 5 bolt hubs. Thanks. Thad

If something else could have been made to fit then it is possible my uncle could have done it. I remember seeing 2 parts WCs at his farm back in the '70s that he salvaged out to keep that one going. Likely the source of the fenders and tank you picked up at the sale.
I'm pretty sure this is a WC pedestal. The belt pulley you got. ![]() |

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for much of anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I'll go out and take some pics of my WC vs my Wd one. Also need to check my parts for the spindle block for you. Will post them pics later this afternoon.

For the life of me, I can't see where the difference is between the unstyled WC and the styled WC/WD fronts. Near as I can tell the styled WC and WD are the same, but have different steering gears. Styled WC and Wd share the same spindle block and all that goes with it. It must be in the size of the keyway for the spinld eblock or something. The only difference in parts #'s is in the vertical steering shaft, the key for the spindle block, and the block itself. The pedistal seems to be the same. Anyhow. Here is a couple shots of my 37 WC pedistal. I assue it to be the correct one. I dug around for the spindle block I thought I had, but must have scrapped it last fall. Shouldn't be too hard to find a good used one.

Aaron that looks like and has the same casting number as mine. The spindel block looks like mine should have. The only difference I see is that the crank on mine has the spring behind the pedistal and my crank has slots to remove it. Thanks much.

I went out to the shop to get the casting numbers off the hubs and found a case eagle on them. Thanks for the help on this I think I know what I have and know what I need.

I may be wrong but I was told that the last number 5 on this one is for the year it was cast.
