I am wanting to pull. I have a Farmall 560 diesel that i can fix up. I want to pull farm class, at my age that will be fun. I pulled a AC series 4 a few years ago, but i traded it. If i got a D17 diesel can i turn the fuel up on that pump ? Pulling againt those farmall with TAs the power direct would be nice. D17 farm stock, what do you pullers say?

Turning the pump up on these engines only results in more black smoke - not any more power. Its hard to get much more than stock power from a 262 diesel engine. I am not a puller, but that is what I have read before.

Get the 560 or a gas D-17. A "stock" Farmall "M" ??? There is no such thing. They all have 400 or 450 pistons and sleeves in them after all these years. That's why they aren't 6 volts anymore.

Couple guys in my club running wd45 diesels that im sure are at least 262's. they both do quite well and the motors dont really smoke until they are loaded hard. Natpa Div 2&3. Div3 guy pulls lighter and the Div2 tractor pulls 4500 up to 6000 running 16x9 34 tires. he will almost always spin out, but sometimes does power out in the 6000. Id like to know what they did and how they hold them together. guess i need to ask. but they are no match for the M's with 6.5+ inch stroke
