Nice looking tractor. I don't know how Allis did the lights on the 190, but on the older tractors they didn't have a ground wire. They had to be grounded from the socket back to the tractor and any paint in between grounding points would cause trouble.

I just noticed you are from Newton, Il. I live in Newton township and if you say Newton around here it is where the school used to be and the township garage is now with the cemetery just 1/2 mile west. Charlie

Just a hop and a skip from Illinois Gleaners home town of Willow Hill. I suppose it's possible that the switch is the problem but it should be getting very hot with the dim lights. Get a battery charger(the little ones) and hook the neg to grnd then touch the + to the lead feeding the lights on the switch.May need a wire in the clip to reach in and touch the post feeding the lights and see if that brightens things up. You definately have a bad connection somewhere. My 220 uses same basic setup and it's lights are bright and white.

Andy good looking 190xt, I would do what Steve M C/IL said, I'am sure it's simple I would also unplug the Lights and use a meter on each wire to check supply, if you happened to get to much juice pop goes light.
Also the decals in black look good on that 190xt never saw that before.
Good Luck

The decals look like the incorrect ones thare sold on ebay. 190's had a white stripe and black letters and said One-Ninety.
I actually like the looks of the black stripe better.
