You shouldn't knock what you do not know. I am a Massey harris fan and I also like Allis Chalmers, I own both brands and both are excellent machines. Massey Harris has a long line of history and heritage as Allis Chalmers does. Massey Harris originated in Ontario Canada and was a driving force in agriculture as Allis chalmers has also been a driving force . If I like one I do not have to hate the other, I respect both. Massey Harris has been acquired in mergers just like Allis Chalmers, they both share simularities as they both have taken the rough and rocky road of the agricultural industry{ rise to greatness and the fall from greatness}. I find it hard to hear people hate or bash such heritage {massey}in order to appreciate the same kind of heritage {Allis chalmers}. just my 2 cents |

I grew up on Farmalls. Still have the B, Super C, 2 cubs, 140. Let our Super M get away some years ago due to cash shortage. Still kicking myself over that one. Have 2 John Deere tractors, 2030 and 2640. Have 7 Allis Chalmers, G, 2 Bs, C, CA, WC, WD45. Have a Massey-Ferguson 240. Used to have a Massey 135, which was a tough little tractor. The 240 isn't the tractor the 135 was, even though they are pretty much the same. Would love to have a JD 70, 720 or 730, just love the sound. I can't really rank them as I love them all. Take Care, Rick W.

I think it's all director at modern Massey Ferguson not Massey Harris. Two completely different animals. Really it's about what's his face at the head of AGCO. I refuse to utter the SOB's name unless I combine it with a derogatory term. I own a 30 Massey and I ranked Massey Harris on my list.
