Does anyone know of ac 7000 or 8010 for sale that is in decent shape to run a round baler? Or similar size ac. There is one in bagdad ky. That is 420 miles from my home in western md. Hate to drive any further to look at one. Might take a trip this friday and saturday to shop. Have looked at several kubota m9000 and m9540. Very nice tractors but hate to spend that much money if I don't have too. Tried ac7000 out at sandy lake implment couple weeks ago and really liked how it drove. Slept on it over night and next morning it was already sold. Many of these tractors at dealers appear to have had the guts worked out of them. Seat worn out and pin hole in drawbar looks like an elongated goose eggs. Run my baler now with 185. Does a good job, but looking for cab. Thanks in advance, Bill

It looks like there are a few 7010s in PA:
http://www.fastline.com/v100/listings.aspx?keywords=allis%207010 and this 7020 with a cummins in NY http://www.fastline.com/v100/1980-Allis-Chalmers-7020-BOURDEAU-BROS,-INC-CHAMPLAIN-NY-equipment-detail-30eedafc-53ac-492f-aa08-fe8943c57ebd.aspx And this 8010 at the same place in NY (also with a cummins, this dealer must love cummins coversions): http://www.fastline.com/v100/1985-Allis-Chalmers-8010-BOURDEAU-BROS,-INC-CHAMPLAIN-NY-equipment-detail-3b38a001-6c1a-463c-8032-94c267424c84.aspx They will pop up if you look around. Seems like most of the 7000s for sale on fastline were in the midwest. Good luck! Hurst Edited by Hurst - 27 Sep 2010 at 7:56am |

Forgot to mention earlier, but if you are looking for a round baling tractor, the black belly 7000 may be the better bet out of the two, as it has the wet clutch, so you don't have to worry about wearing out any throwout bearings while you are waiting for a bale to wrap. Also, (kind of going back on my word about wanting a wet clutch), check out the ford 10-series (probably would want a 7610 or larger for a round baler). They are about as simple as a tractor can get and still be comfortable to use. We have a 6610 and 7610 open station tractors on our farm, and they have been great. We have had to do a couple things to them most likely from a little neglect earlier in their lives, but other than that, they are great. They do have dry clutches, so round baling will be a little harder on them.

I have every ac and kubota tractor that could possibly work bookmarked within 1500 miles of my farm from machine finder, fastline, tractor house and dealers within 400 miles of the house. Several kubotas have caught my eye, but nothing ac except summerix and I don't want to drive that far (600 plus miles) and a nice 8010 in Iowa. Just wondering if individuals or maybe a farm sale that I havn't seen advertised might show up if I asked the question. Thanks for the replys, Bill

Look for a 7020 with a power shift, makes a nice baler tractor.
Took me almost a year to find what I was looking for. B & G Equipment in Hopkinsville, Ky, If Brannon's say it's good, it's good.

The cabs are night and day better in 8000 series. i think in the long run you would be alot happier with a 8000 series than a 7000 series.

Have yet to sit in an 8000, so ignorance is bliss right now lol. Please don't tell too much more on how comfy they are, I don't have enough money to buy an 8000 series!

Bill, several of the Iowa dealers go out to PA to pickup New Holland equipment and would be able to haul a tractor East, so don't be afraid of looking a little further from home. Many good people on this site who would be glad to help you by taking photos or test driving for you.
