It is amazing what you can still do with old AC equipment. We have a hedge row out at our farm and several ditches with trees growing in them. We decided that we needed to buy a sub-soiler to bust the roots that were growing out into the field. I started down a hedgerow pulling with my WD,[ My WD has D-17 head and who knows what all else of a WD45 engine in it],so it has the power to pull pretty deep. You can't believe the roots that pulled up. I set it as deep as it would pull it, I pulled up 3" diameter roots that was going out into the field. I went around a grove of trees where there once was an old house. I hooked onto something that stopped the tractor and killed it. When I tried to raise the subsoiler, it wouldn't come up. I thought for an instance that I may have caught up on  an old water line or something. I backed up and hit it again and the biggest old root you could imagine came up, I know it was more than 3" diameter. Surely we will see a difference this next spring, especially if we get a dry year. I  believe I will do this every Fall now.  Dave.

To bad your "A" doesn't have a snap coupler. That root would have come out like all the rest.
