Your point has been answered. 2010 results YTD compared to Deere and CNH in NA: CNH up ~ 7%, Deere up ~ 10%, AGCO down ~ 7%.

You are right Andy but you also know that it is more about the NAME change than the colour.Ride the name band wagon and call it a Challenger and in the next breath say they're all the same,it's just paint, name don't matter so we'll call it MASSEY....uhhh....cause they're popular in Europe? What?A date with the crazy girl might be fun but you wouldn't marry her. AGCO is she.

Yeah I like that speaking out of both sides of mouth..."its all just paint, no big deal" So if it is no big deal, why change the paint/name to begin with?

the argument for changing paint/name is,
1. seperate part number schemes, manuals, etc.
 >>> nonsense. No reason cant have a single part numbering, labeling, and manuals for both flavors of paint.

2. extra expense with painting.
>>> Hmm yet the automakers seem to do fine with a lot of colors

3. Extra marketing with mulitple brands.
>>>some truth to that, but AGCO has never been accused of marketing to being with.

My RT100A is a great tractor.  When I first drove it it gave me goose bumps.  Now all I can think of when I drive it is AGCO dropping orange and feeling betrayed.  So I have it for sale on tractorhouse.  It's still a great tractor and easily the best tractor anyone of any relation to me near or far has owned but I can't get over the feeling.  I was offered $58,000 on trade for it last year and that's what I have it listed for but may deal lower on it.

The only new tractor that gives me any thrill now is the New Holland Bi-Directional.  I've always liked them when they started out as Versatile.  I looked into McCormick and they seem pretty cool.  Kubota is ok but Richenhagen threatened to buy them at one point so no go there.  Versatile's tractors are too big for me right now.  Can't bring myself to Deere yet but who knows.

I was looking at a MF 1839 inline square baler today at my closest dealer, a JD/MF one about 20 miles away.  Mentioned to the salesman I liked the Autumn Prime color better then the Red, he said others had mentioned that also.  Asked the price, $23,000+! Guess I'll run my 4600's a few more years.  He did say they would throw in a gallon of orange or autumn prime but maybe wouldn't want to know about it being repainted until it is paid for.  Zero percent interest for 6 years, still can't afford it.  He also mentioned the Hesston 1365 diskbine I bought 6 years ago for 20 grand is now 30, and red!
