Did all I-60 units come equipped with the 160 motor?
I am helping a friend ID a unit and am not familier with where the s/n is located on these forklifts; no numbers appear to be stamped on the torque tube flange where found on any of my D Series ag units. Unit has the somewhat rounded grillwork, vs. the more square sheet metal of the later (I-600?) units. Friend is looking to convert this unit to LP and the "throat" of the manifold looks to be very small, when compared to my D15II tractors.
What engine numbers stamped on the block would determine if 149 or 160?
Thanks

Also, unit does have oval cut-out for muffler.
This fella is looking for a good source for complete (new) LP carb set-up; he will source tank and mounting seperately.
Thanks

An I60 is a constructionized version of a D15 II.  It does have the 160 engine, oval muffler, lites on the fenders.   The only difference between the I60 and I600 that I have found is the badge on the front grille is different between the two.  The hard nose and grille should be the same between the two.  Your friends may have some owner mods over the years too.   HTH

Skip is right. I had an I-60 backhoe. The difference between the I-60 and I-600 was the backhoe not the tractor. The same most likely applies to the forklift part if there are any differences at all.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Hmmm; been thinking about what he will potentially do if converts it to LPG.
Different compression as I recall, vs. the gas motors .......
Any thoughts on potential burning of pistons?
His reasoning for the conversion is he wants a more finite control on his throttle when his workers use this unit for his pole barn building business.
Any thoughts are welcome as always.
Thanks
