Here is the generator mounted on my WF. Runs pretty smooth and has full voltage at about 3/4 throttle.

It's a 15KW, made by Katolight Corporation in Mankato MN. According to the rule of thumb on HP/KW that is probably as big as the WF can handle.

Nice. Only thing I'd add is a filler over the driveline. Piece of plywood or sheet metal so you don't slip and step down through a turning driveshaft. Now, I hope you don't need it this winter.

The gear box is a Federal Seal & Gear Corp. that was on when I bought it. It has a 3.25:1 ratio and at full voltage there are 2 clicks left on the throttle. Aaron, your right about safety, I will add a guard when I pull it off to paint it.

Kato makes nice generators. The big double bearings get packaged into premium sets at work. 2 or 3 MW however in size

I bought a brand new 40kw Katolite several years ago but have not run it yet. Had to build a trailer because I was too CHEAP to buy one.
Nice machines. I plan to power mine with my AC 180 diesel or J.D. 4050. I could use the D-17, if the load requirement is light. I figure 2 h.p./Kw |

Nice looking setup, I mounted mine on a small trailer. I finally got my 16kw pto wired for the house, I used the CA to power it on the maiden voyage. It will run the geo-thermal furnace, deep well and water heater, not all at once but I will be babysitting it anyway if the electric goes out. I hope I never have to use it.

Yep, Kato makes nice genheads. I've got a Consolodated Diesel Electric generating plant, very, very conservatively rated 35kva, powered by a Hercules JXLD 331ci inline six... runs at 1200rpm, and man, what a sound!

We never sold any but I remember getting literature - don't know from whom - about trailer mounted PTO generators. We perhaps could have sold some but many used manifold valves to run their milkers with when power was out.
Good Luck!
