Hi everyone,
I am looking at a 2001 PJ flat deck 30' 20000 lb trailer with duals that appearance-wise looks to be in good shape. It comes with (9) new tires and brakes along with 8000# winch & 100' of cable. It is also set up with three ramps. The guy is asking $6300.
Is this in the ballpark of what it is worth? Too much??
Thanks in advance for the help,
Terry

Well, I bought a new 27 foot tilt deck Corn Pro in january for about that. If that trailer fills your needs I'd say go for it.
Remember that at 20,000# you will be exceeding the towing capacity of all of the pickup trucks that I can think of and the actual load capacity of that trailer will be around 12,000 pounds give or a take a couple thousand.

If you want to find out if any problems with it , have it DOT inspected to see if it meets all the rules of the road.
Kid was going to buy a larger trailer from dealer and was wondering what i thought of it , I looked at it and it was not worth what he put down on it. Dealer said it was DOT stickered already so did not need inspection. Told them I wanted current (up to date inspection NEW) , it did not pass , needed as much work as price of trailer to pass.
refunded deposit , grudgingly.

Inspect the spring seats and equalizer areas closely, I am in the process of replacing the rockers on mine as they are all broken up and appear to have been for some time but I failed to crawl under and look. Look at the cross member welds and if the flooring has been replaced for any boltings that have compromised the cross members. Otherwise the price sounds good for the weight and style especially with new tires bias or radial.
