The "Torque-Limiter" is a spring loaded pressure plate/clutch disc designed to break-away and momentarily slip under severe shock loads to protect the driveline. The clutch disc also has the torsional dampner springs in the center to also protect things. The oldest Power-Shift tractors had a regular style (multiple coil springs) pressure plate minus the three release fingers. This was because they thought they might need to release the driveline to get the tractor started in very cold temperatures. They soon found out that wasn't the case and went to the cheaper belleville spring design like all Power-Director tractors had. The "Clutch" is inside the transmission and is oil applied/oil cooled/oil lubricated, henceforth it is a "wet" clutch design for long life.

Thanks for the info. The tractor runs but none of the hyds work. Would this be caused by a bad tourqe limiter? If so would you have to split the tractor down more then just from the tourqe tube and engine to get to the torqe limiter or would it be right there when u split it open? This tractor aslo has a Power-Director. Thanks Nathan.
