I was doing some much needed maintanence on the tractor today. I have owned the tractor alittle less than a year and by the looks of the hydraulic filter it was way past due for a change. I decided to drain all the hydraulic fluid out to be safe and put on a new Agco filter. I had the time and the new gaskets so I was going to take off the sump pan and take a look. Good thing I did because the original screen assembly was in bad shape!!!! I started calling dealers and even though it is harvest time, they all were closed by noon. I need this part and really am curious what it will cost and cant wait for monday morning. Do I need to get the Vaseline out or will I be very happy with the price?? Does anyone know?? Part #70242403 Thanks in advance!! Ryan

I don't know about the D-17, but when I was into my D-10 series III, I thought the hydraulic pick up screen was covered with sludge.
I later discovered that there is a shock absorbing shaft coupling in the shaft that powers the hydraulic pump and PTO. The rubber parts were gone from this part and what I thought was sludge was ground up rubber. Dusty

I made the call to the dealer this morning. I knew I better be sitting down but never thought I should be legally drunk and sitting down at that early hour. The filter is still available for the sum of $325.00!!!!!!! I think if someone khows of a supplier that deals in screens for hydraulic systems I can fix this much cheaper. Anyone know of any suppliers of hydraulic type screens that were used in flat type situations?? Thanks in advance, Ryan.

is the screen separated from the flat frame? or does the screen have large holes in it?
With some luck, I was able to re-solder the screen to the frame on my Ser4. Takes some time and it must be free of oil to get the flux/solder to stick.
That kinda pricing probably means they don't stock them in the system and are marking up thier cost from an independant mfg to the tune of 200-300 %

$325? You better order 2 cause in a year or 2 AGCO will make it NLA cause there is no demand. Who's running AGCO?
