Will The hood grill and fenders off of a B fit an IB? Would they be correct?

Hood & grill: Yes. Fenders: No. Sometimes the grill may have to be modified for certain IB attachments. There are reproduction fenders available from some vendors on this site.

IB fenders are VERY similar to WD or 45 model. You can do slight modifications to make them fit and look great.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I used the WD/WD45 fenders for my IB and they worked out nice. Had my bodyman use the originals for a pattern, and he did the transformation to the 45 fenders. They came out nice!

The part numbers for the grille are different in the parts book, now I don't know what the differance in numbers mean, but I would sure like to know.

Sorry, early parts books show the same. Later ones show a grill # in the 227000 range. By the number, that would be a 1952/1953 change. Not sure what was different on the later grills either.

The grill for a wide adjustable and an arch front end are cut different at the bottom. I had never noticed this untill I bought a NOS grill from Cherry's Tractor Salvage near Fort Campbell, KY. I had to cut a rectangle peice out to make it fit around the support plate. The cut was much smaller on the arch front end. The new grill was not cut at all so it would work on either.

Thanks for the information guys. I'm looking at one in poor condition but I have a 39 b which I would use for a parts donor. I already need a couple of parts off of it for a late 38 b that I have. The guy wants too much for it but if he will come down a little and I already have most of what I need I may make a deal. The 39 is very mix matched and not worth a restore. I didn't get the number off of the IB to see what year it is. Thanks for the info.
