Hi all!I am going to rebuild my WD engine and was thinking of using a WD45 kit.will this work or would i need a different crank etc?If it runs into allot of changes i will just use WD parts.Thanks for any help and advice.

Terry - I'm no expert but if you want to build it as WD45 spec engine at 226 cu in you'll need the WD45 crank.  The 45 had a longer stroke (4" bore X 4.5 stroke) vs the WD's "square" 201 cu engine a (4" bore and 4" stroke).  Not sure of the other implications of piston height, compression ratio, etc. to use a WD45 kit in a WD engine if you don't change cranks.  Someone else will surely post that.  Mike

You'll lose compression unless you get a 45 crank. You could put a 175 kit in it and your compression will be about the same as standard WD pistons but it won't be anything like a 45 engine.
