What features does the L3 have that the L2 doesn't.

The L-3 has an American Bosch injection pump instead of a Roosa Master. Also the L-3 has a longer cleaning shoe, a different variable speed cylinder drive to eliminate the need to change cylinder drive pulley, a heavier chain on the unloading auger swing out. I'm sure there are a few other things, but can't think of anything else right now.

The very first L2's weren't a lot different than the stright L's and the very last L2's were about the same as the L3'S. most of the changes occurred during the L2 years. My advice is if it has the tan cab interior, it's a good one, if it has the black interior, stay away from it. Darrel

a 1982 L2 Hydro windrow plus "Golden Harvest Edition", would be one one sweet machine.
81-82 L2's were virtually the same as L3's. be sure to get a hydro with the 426 |

We had a L2 Corn Plus... Hydro-traction drive. Had the 649T engine and tan cab, neighbors had a new 9400 deere at the time, that L2 would turn circles around that deere in corn!!..Late model L2 just as good as a L3
