High priced D-19

   BLee and Bob, as painful as it is when you look at the cost, you both have beautiful tractors and probably great experiences finding, restoring, and enjoying them. We think nothing about spending $30K on a new car that's worth $10K in four years. I think you both have spent your money well, and have produced nice pieces of orange history to show for it. Good job.

	Looks awesome!!! My D 19 was my first AC, and is still my favorite tractor. I had it fully restored about 18 years ago, but it is about due for another restoration from use and too much sitting outside.

	Blee I was going to ask you if your d19 was a wide front end and changed to narrow, saw it still had the rear pivot point under by the oil pan for a wide axle. Edited by Bob(FL) - 05 Feb 2010 at 12:20pm

	Really awesome tractor. The D19 has a very proud look to it. My grandpa had a D19 diesel and a D19 gas when he farmed years ago. A nieghbor down the road bought a pair of D19 diesels brand new. He had a side mount mower for one of them. The picture of the D19 with the snow back ground should be on a calender. Please feel free to post more picture of it. Great job. I like wide fronts. But the narrow front has a look that takes you back. Way cool. Plus the narrow front is better for hauling wagons around in tight spots. Very nice.

	I never added it up, but it was worth it I have a Massey 44 with a new motor that's about halfway done. They always take too long and cost to much, but when you drive it out of the shop your ready to push in the next one. LOL!

	Fabulous job Bri!! Man, that thing looks beeeutiful! I'm partial to the NF's also especially when it comes to the larger tractors. Don't worry bout' the money. 	wow this tractors looking good.. i see alot of you guys are into the D-19. im in the process of doing one up my self, but i need a turbo. anyone know of a good used or new re man turbo. i have a thompson on there now model 31b70. any help would be greatly appreciated.

	I'm awful late to this thread... but that is one AWESOME tractor!!! I know people who spend more than you did on that tractor just eating out every year. FWIW, you might say that you have in it more than what it is worth, but where could you buy a tractor as nice as that? I know nice examples are out there, but how often do they come up for sale? How often in your area? Nice job on the D-19!!!

	Bob I"m in the same boat. I've been working on a 190xtd for the past 5 years i think. I'm going to have about $25,000 in mine. what a big mistake.....

	I know of a local 190 XT gas tractor with very near to $40,000 into it. It's was restored by the guys at Waltham MN. I know some of the mechanics there and I actually used to drive that tractor when it was the yard tractor at Peterson Implement in Blooming Prairie. If a gas 190 XT is worth $40,000 then $11,000 in to the D19 or $25,000 in to a 190 XTD doesn't seem so bad.

	My son bought a 19 diesel about six months ago, the owner said the engine was bad, paid 1500.00 for it. Brought it home and replaced the push rods (4 bent) and he has been pulling with it in 7500 and 8500 stock ever since, and doing well.

	I'll be starting my D-19 restoration after I get some land cleared and a nice shop built. Hopefully I'll have some money left over to put into the tractor! Engine runs great, but smokes a little. 3rd gear needs fixed, and my hydraulics have some issues. But all the pieces are there. Got any tips? [TUBE]GqJEcWOvHQE[/TUBE]
