I've heard many of you talking about mowing with a WC. How do you do that? Do you have to have a special mower or do you have to put special components on the tractor?

Most I have heard talk about mowing with a WC are talking about a side mount sickle mower. I'm sure it would be possible to mount a Woods belly mower on a WC also.

You could also pull a trailer type sickle mower or bushog.

Hadn't thought of that. Unfortunately for me everything we have is 3 point. So the Allis and the Oliver could only rake or teddar in level ground or pull a trailer.

On our other farm there are some bottoms that are all togeather about 25 acres. And they are completely flat. So maybe next year during hay season I could let the Allis and Oliver show me why people chose them over horses.

My neighbor has a Woods mower mounted on a WC.  Not sure how it is mounted but I guess it works OK.  Hand clutch on a WD or a 45 would be nicer though.

You could just put the cross bar and 3pt lower links on the drawbar and pull the 3pt mower along. I removed the top link on my Farm King mower and it mows nice. I never see a need to raise it any way
